| The
Pinelands Regional Community Partnership is a
group of local community members and
professionals who are interested in helping the
youth in the area. The partnership meets
six times per year in the District Board Office
at the PRSD. The group was funded by a
three-year grant offered by the NJ Dept. of
Health and Senior Services and has two major
components to address. The two components
are Health/Fitness/Nutrition and
Anti-Violence/bullying, although the partnership
does deal with most any topic concerning our
youth today.
Our
partnership meets for approximately 1-2 hours to
network, share, and discuss ideas and upcoming
events. Some of the activities includes:
the healthy Choice Program, relay for Life,
Pinelands Experiential Ropes Course, Fitness for
Life, The Wildcat WalkFit Program, and Gold Hawk
Tae Kwon Do (martial arts, self-defense,
speaking engagements).
The Community
Partnership of Pinelands Regional HS and PTSA,
along with LEHPTA and Partners for health (SOCH)
are sponsoring a Community
cat walk. We are encouraging everyone
in our community to come take a walk, and take a
stand against obesity.
