| The
mathematics program develops skills that prepare
students to meet or surpass state and national
proficiencies. The New Jersey ASK 7 and NJASK 8
as well as the High School Proficiency
Assessment (HSPA) in mathematics require critical
thinking and problem-solving skills. In fact,
success on the HSPA is a requisite to high school
graduation. In order to best prepare our
students to do well on these assessments, the Math
Department has infused every mathematics
course-of-study with test prep materials.
Moreover, we provide supplemental math lab, math
skills, and test-prep opportunities for students who
are likely to benefit most from them. |

| Pinelands offers a variety of core
mathematics and elective programs including
computer science, consumer science, general,
college prep, and honors sequences of
study. Advanced Placement Calculus was added to our course brochure during
the 2005-06 school year. Currently,
students benefit from opportunities to receive
simultaneous high school and college credit in
courses as Honors Calculus. |

| Success
in mathematics is fundamental to success and
other programs. Realizing this, the
mathematics faculty is dedicated to assisting
every student to reach his/her potential in this
often difficult and challenging
discipline. They are available through
