Case Management: 7th Grade, BD, 1/2 8th Grade
My name is Christina Calello and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker on the Junior High School Child Study Team. I have had the honor of working at the Junior HIgh School for the past 15 years. In that time, I have worked with both general education students as well as special education students to assist in emotional support and development of Individualized Education Plans. I am currently assigned to the 7th grade and the Emotional Regulation Impairment.self-contained program.
I started my academic journey to becoming a social worker after serving in the United States Army as a MIlitary Police Officer after high school graduation. I graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and then went on to acquire a Masters Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. I continue to serve in the United States Army Reserve as a Social Worker and have shared my experiences and knowledge with students and families to encourage and empower our students.
In addition to my educational and military duties, I often volunteer within the PInelands community. I can often be seen at many school sponsored events as well community events. I volunteer with the Little Egg Harbor Police Department in advising the Police Explorers Program, advise the Gay Straight Alliance, and I am currently working with staff and administration on organizing a Military/JROTC club for our Junior High and High School Students.
I am the proud mother of a wonderful 16 year old son, who is now a Junior in high school. Being a mother has taught me many valuable lessons. It truly does take a village to raise a child. I believe that the school, family, and community need to work together to give our children the best outcome possible and that is what I aim to do for all my families within the Pinelands Community.
