Overview of Employee Benefits

Sick Days

All 10-Month Employee will receive 10 sick days per year*. 
All 12-Month Employees receive 12 sick days per year*.  

*New employees' sick days are prorated for the year ending June 30th (one per month for each full month worked if not starting on July 1st (12-month staff) or September 1st (10-Month staff).

Unused sick days continue to accrue throughout employment in the District.  Refer to your bargaining unit agreement for information on payment of unused sick days at retirement.

Vacation Days (If Applicable)

All 12-month employees receive an allotment of Vacation Days, in accordance with your bargaining agreement.  Vacation days will be prorated one per month.  Only twenty (20) vacation days are permitted to be rolled over each year.

Personal Days:

You will receive three (3) personal days annually.  Unused personal days convert to sick days at the beginning of the following school year.  Personal days cannot be used before or after a holiday.

Bereavement Days

Non-accruing bereavement days are provided for attendance services as a result of a death in the family (per incident) as follows:

  • Immediate Family – 5 Days
    Spouse, Child, Parents, Parents-in-Law, Grandparents, Grandchild, Brother, Sister, Brother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, Son-in-Law

  • Other Family – 3 Days
    Aunt, Uncle, Niece, Nephew

Payroll

You will be paid on the 15th and 30th of each month.  When a payday falls on a school holiday, vacation, or weekend, you will receive your paycheck on the last previous workday.

Electronic Pay Stubs
The Pinelands Regional School District utilizes the Genesis program for payroll administration.  You will have the ability to print your pay stub from your Genesis Employee Portal which will be set up for you.

Direct Deposit
Direct deposit is mandatory. Direct deposit information can be changed in your Genesis Employee Portal.  Please note that it can take up to two (2) payroll cycles for the direct deposit to become effective.

Disability Plans

Pinelands Regional does not participate in the State’s Temporary Disability Plan.  Enrollment in a disability plan is the sole responsibility of the employee.  Employees can purchase disability coverage through Educator’s Insurance (NJEA endorsed), Aflac, or Colonial Life. Representatives from each company typically schedule visits in the fall of each school year.  Contact information for each company is listed on the District Disability Plan page.

403(b) Tax Shelter & ROTH 403(b) Plans

A list of Board approved tax shelter companies is provided on the District Human Resources website.  Please feel free to contact anyone on this list if you are interested in their services.

First Financial Federal Credit Union

The credit union offers an array of services, such as summer savings, holiday clubs, etc.  Employees may sign up for this at any time throughout the year. Please visit the Credit Union website for more information.

Bargaining Unit Agreements

Bargaining Unit Agreements can be reviewed on the District Human Resources website.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

It is the employee’s responsibility to notify the District Office of any changes in dependents and/or address.  Change of name or address needs to be submitted through the Genesis Employee Portal. Changes such as the birth of a child, marriage, or divorce must be reported to the health plan within 60 days of the event. Please note, proof of the change must be submitted to the Business Office for the change to take effect.
