Grievance Procedure for Complaints of Discrimination

The purpose of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, New Jersey Administrative Code 6:4, Equality in Educational Programs and the Pinelands Regional School District's policy of non-discrimination are to prohibit discrimination against students and employees on the basis of sex, race, national origin, religion, creed, ancestry or social or economic status. These and other federal and state regulations provide that all persons must be afforded equal opportunity with regard to:

  • Access to and treatment in curricular and extra-curricular activities;

  • Treatment under regulations and policies governing student benefits, services, conduct and dress;

  • Access to employment in educational agencies; and Terms, conditions, and benefits of such employment.

The Pinelands Regional Board of Education designated Karen Kenny to coordinate compliance efforts and to investigate any complaints of discrimination on the basis of sex, race national origin, religion and handicap as pertains to the above. As required by federal regulations all employees must be notified of the name, office address and phone number of this person, also known as the Affirmative Action Officer.

Filing an Affirmative Action Complaint, complete Grievance Form A and submit to the High School Student Services Office.
